Gull Goes By is another work celebrating the birds of the Inlet. This particular gull is cruising Collingwood, intent on something, probably lunch! Surprisingly, the black billed gull has gone from being considered a bit ‘pesky’ to being the most endangered gull in the world.
I adore painting shore birds, capturing the essence of an ordinary day on the Inlet, with the wildlife, the tides and the light all working in harmony as it does in nature.
My message? Look twice, enjoy the beauty, and respect the fragility of our beautiful coastal habitats.
